give me liberty

Liberty mania has hit MAC with a whimsical colour collection celebrating the famous liberty print (you can get makeup bags and a gorgeous scarf as well as the usual array of eyeshadows and lippies).
The floral print featuring on the cases is exclusive to MAC but is based on William Morris’s Strawberry Thief print from 1883 – it’s a more modern version.
The collection colours are perfect for a Northern Hemisphere Spring and cheerful for our everlasting summer. Think bright pink lipsticks with blueish undertones, gold and purple eyeshadows or white and blue nail lacquer. It’s a little bit 60s pop with a current penchant for eye popping brights.
The campaign was shot by English photographer Miles Aldridge with the makeup by Charlotte Tilbury and styled by Katy England who designed the dress worn by the model, using many Liberty prints and creating a ruffle dress.
Oscar Wilde once called Liberty of London ‘the chosen resort of the artistic shopper’. Seemingly because of its iconic Tudor premises on Great Marlborough Street (opened in 1925) with wonky staircases, intricate designs in the elevators, wooden balconies and glass atriums.
It appears to upholding that reputation very nicely!
