inDETAIL Disco-theque

Roanna is a makeup artist who works on the Smith & Caughey, Queen St, MAC counter. During NZ Fashion Week, she worked backstage on numerous shows and prepped us lucky VIPs in the MAC makeup tent.
On the day I photographed her she decided to buck against the trend for a dark smokey eye, or liner flick by wearing a look called “Disco-theque”.
“It’s a modern look with pops of color through the face to balance out an otherwise monochromatic look.”
On her eye she put Naked Lunch eyeshadow as a base and a charcoal brown through the crease. For the inner contour she lightly dusted, “Stars and Rockets” and lined the lid with Veluxe Pearl Texture in a blue/purple, “it’s my favourite, I’m obsessed with it,” she said. On her lips she used Saint Germain lipstick with a bit of Quite Cute Lipstick for a hint of lilac and blue tone. “You could use a blue and white Lip Mix from the MAC Pro store in Britomart to get the same effect,” she advises. On cheeks she used Cequia blush from the Quite Cute collection.
