NYFW Vivienne Tam [WIN!]

New York Fashion Week is here in all of its glory! So get your hot little hands ready for the coolest makeup trends straight from the 2011 Fall/Winter catwalk! Beauty Goss HQ is going to be bringing you the all the new trends and makeup goss you need to keep you in the know!

Vivienne Tam with Maybelline New York

The trend…

Vivienne Tam’s makeup look was a modern take on the traditional Chinese Opera. With porcelain-like complexions and blunt winged eye liner Maybelline New York’s makeup artist, Andy Koh, created a look that focuses on a dramatic, theatrical eye! He’s kept most elements neutral with the made focal point being the dramatic upturned eye liner.

The look…

See what we’re talking about in this behind the scenes gallery below.

Shimmery, yet natural, eye shadow

The tools…

Loving this look? Well here’s everything you need to re-create it for yourself!

  1. Maybelline New York Liquid Foundation- use this foundation to create flawless yet natural skin that has a shimmery porcelain-like finish.
  2. Maybelline New York Eye Studio in Give me Gold- create a natural, champagne coloured eye with this eye shadow. Make sure the colour is neutral as the eye liner is the focal point.
  3. Maybelline New York ‘The Falsies’ Mascara- Apply this mascara several times to create chunky, thick lashes. Make sure to apply more mascara to the outer corners of your eye lashes.
  4. Maybelline New York Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Liner- this is the key element of the look. Use this eye liner brush to create a thick up-turned blunt-edged line.
  5. Maybelline New York Colour Sensational Pearls Lipstick- Lips need to be natural to balance the eyes. Use this lipstick to give them a hint of colour.

WIN! So you know the trend, the look and the tools but now you need the product! Here’s your chance to win all the tools you’d need to re-create this look for yourself! We have a Vivienne Tam Maybelline New York prize pack that includes all of the products mentioned above! Great huh!

Love the Maybelline make-up table shot (all that awesome make-up to okay with…WOW) or the cheekbones/blush shot, gorgeous pic and shows the correct place to apply blush.

I love picture 8 as it made me look more than once to work out how it worked and what was happening. I found all the makeup with its flurry of colour, visually exciting and it made me want to be there trying it all out!
