NZFW Zambesi

zambesi-image-1zambesi-image-2Looking like a cross between a warrior native and an american football player, the makeup at Zambesi was inspired by sports but also going into battle. I guess you could say the two are the same!

Amber D from MAC keyed the looks – a combination of black or white lines painted on the face around the eyes.

Skin was kept as bare and pale as possible, using studio sculpt foundation and prep and prime powder to contour. Eyes were simple – curled lashes and a slight definition using NC15 and NW2- cromagraphic pencil. Lips were pared back with Lip Erase and highlighted with Vanilla pigment.

The details were painted in either black cromacake or white acrylic paint using a #195 brush.

Zambesi don’t do pretty faces, in all the years I can’t think of a single time I’ve seen a pretty blush or perky looking lip colour strutting down the catwalk. I’ve seen strong brows and last year’s flip on the smokey eye with just black kohl painted under the eye. It suits the utilitarian and somewhat androgynous look of the clothes.
