NZFW11 Lonely Hearts
This collection was a salute to the ’90s and so the makeup and hair followed suit. MAC’s Nicole Thompson keyed the look and created a red rectangle on the eye – the effect was amazing. Somewhat pretty but also edgy. The toughness of the eye was to contrast with beautiful creamy skin. I watched the artists work the skin and contour highlighter on the high points, which made the skin look luminous from the catwalk.
Key products used: Crimson and Black Lipmix, blended and drawn over the eye. Hush, Luna and Pearl Creme Colour bases for a glowing, fresh finish. Myth Lipstick and Lip Conditioner for nude, plumped pouts.

The hair was a wet-look wrapped around the head with loose bits falling out at places. Lauren Gunn from Stephen Marr said she used a Wella Ocean Spray product liberally over locks and wrapped them as if a wig was to be placed on top. To set the hair was then wrapped in fabric from the range (like a turban – as above in the makeup shots), and blow dried.
