party eyes. . .

Whenever I think of going out at night and wearing ‘night’ makeup, I think of the good old smokey eye. One can wear it better at night than during the day for obvious reasons. But before you start slapping on loads of black kohl and shadow consider these two variations from BeautyHQ Magazine…

One is a sparkly number with silver flecks peeking through and the other is a dastardly sexy violet eye.

Note how the sparkly eye suits Seon’s lid to perfection. With just a smudged line of kohl over her lashline the rest is blended into a grey/silver sparkle. It is both modern and timeless. This type of eye works with any outfit – imagine it with a pretty dress, like one of Juliette Hogan’s delightful damsels or rocked up with a Sass and Bide embellished dress. Keep lips nude and give cheeks a light flush of colour.

Over in mauve-camp, Lizzy’s lids have a line of black kohl around the lashline line that is blended into the purple eyeshadow. See how it makes those blue eyes pop! It works a treat against her porcelain skin, but any skintone could wear mauve – just try different intensities. Keep lips nude and let the eyes do the talking.

Bobbi Brown’s Asia Pacific Director of MakeUP Sebastian Tardif created these looks JUST FOR US. To see what else he suggests you wear for a night out over the silly season, buy a copy of the latest BeautyHQ Magazine.

We turned up to a meeting once to be greeted by a lady wearing coral nail polish – she’d gone and sought some out following one of our shoots! Job done!

Which eye do you think you’ll try?

Tamsin xoxo
