I have always loved a good mud mask, there’s nothing like feeling your face crack up as it dries. I totally believe that the mud sucks out all the impurities, whether this is good science or not. I applied the dr dermacare Deep Clean Purifying Mud mask to my face on a day when I had a little breakout around the nose. Next day – gone. It should come as no surprise then that all the products in this range are well suited to those with problematic skin, particularly those battling acne. Aimed at teenagers, this range is actually great for any age, especially if you find yourself having to deal with an outbreak of adult acne.

The Deep Clean Purifying Mud, $39.95; mask is also paraben and fragrance free. Its list of ingredients is short and sweet – water, kaolin, bentonite, aloe vera gel, vitamin e and the preservative popular with all natural products – phenoxyethanol.

Another great product I tried was the Skin Polishing Cloth, $11.95 which acts like a physical exfoliator without causing irritation. For those with severe acne skin, this is a wonderful option for cleansing the face without damaging or irritating pustules.

It’s nice to find products that simple, effective and solve a problem.
