Gossie Girl Review: Clinique

For those who want to combat fine lines, light pigmentation and irregular texture, but don’t want to endure a laser treatment in a clinic… help is at hand with Clinique’s Repairwear Laser Focus.

This serum has taken the beauty world by storm, its blend of anti-oxidants fight free radical activity to put a stop to damage. By mopping up the little buggers that insist on creating havoc, it slows down the signs of ageing – wrinkles and irregular texture. By doing this, it then allows skin cells the free reign to repair in its natural cycle. Healthy skin = happy skin. Happy skin = happy us.

It’s a lightweight, gel-like formula that’s best worn under moisturiser and can be used in the morning and in the evening. Note that for really stubborn signs of pigmentation, persistant use is required. Those spots won’t go easily, I’m afraid! Not without a battle.

We sent out 10 bottles to our Gossie Girls and here’s what they thought.

    Hey everyone!

So I was really excited to have the opportunity to try out this product as it is the first skincare product from Clinique I have yet to try. The bottle that the product comes in is really compact and is a nice size.
To give you a background of my skin type, I have dry, sensitive skin with fine lines on my forehead and under eye area. I also have quite a few sunspots and pigmentation from lack of sunscreen use as a teen. I’m asian and in my early 20s.

In terms of packaging, the dropper seems to be of a great quality. I have used this product for about a month and have not seen any major differences in the appearance of my skin.

Upon first use, I did notice a warm sensation in my skin so unsure if there is an ingredient in it that is reacting slightly to my skin. However, the sensation subsides and skin feels fine. I have some fine lines on my forehead and under eye area and have noticed slight smoothing but will need to continue use for a bit longer to know for sure.

The consistency of the formula is lightweight as described and also does not have a heavy smell so will be great for people who are picky with smells. It blends nicely into the skin and absorbs fast. It doesn’t leave any residue etc on the skin.

All in all, I would definitely recommend this product to someone who wants a new product to try to help with sun damage and premature aging. Also, it will be great for people who want a cheaper alternative to Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair serum or Lancome’s Genifique to try!

I really like that this product has a plain smell and doesn’t appear to be overly perfumed, which is great for me as strong scents tend to irritate my skin. It absorbs very quickly, so I felt as though I was using a little more than suggested. Just using this product alone didn’t provide enough moisture for my skin, but using it in conjunction with my night cream left my skin feeling beautifully soft in the morning! After using repairwear for 3 weeks, I haven’t noticed any extreme changes in my skin, but it is generally feeling softer and looking a bit smoother. The thing I really loved about this product is it can be used around the eye area! I barely ever come across serums/moisterisers that can be used around the eyes. When combined with an eye cream, I felt my eyes looked smooth and less puffy in the morning. Overall, pretty good product to add to your regular skincare routine to give you an extra boost…makes me feel as though I am doing something good for my skin without too much extra effort!

Before reviewing this product I have to admit I felt I was the wrong person to ask. At 27 years old and a moisturising fanatic, my skin is in great condition. I have good genes to thank for this fact. The only visible wrinkles I have are slight and feature solely on my forehead. As for UV damage, I am a slave to sunscreen but I’m sure as I mature the signs of this may become more visible.

The first thing I loved about this product was the smell; clean, refreshing and not over powering. I used it religiously twice a day underneath my usual moisturizer. It was not drying and felt lovely to apply. I tend to have dry/sensitive skin so I was worried about reacting badly but this never happened.

The results were varied. While my skin generally looked smooth and radiant after using it, I was breaking out all over my chin! In order to fix this slight hiccup I began using the serum around my eyes, forehead and cheeks only.

This product would be awesome for those in their early thirties who are beginning to see the early signs of aging or for older women seeking out an alternative to more expensive treatments.

    REVIEW: Clinique Repairwear Laser
I have always been sceptical about big marketing claims on products however I was really impressed with this serum and the claims based on scientific research. This product is perfect for those who like me who have wrinkles and pigmentation from sun damage as it has been described as the next best thing to laser treatment.
It is very light in texture, completely fragrance free and did not irritate my skin especially given that my skin can be sensitive. It felt really smooth to apply and absorbed into my skin, leaving my skin feeling lovely and soft with a silky mat finish ready for a moisturiser. I have definitely noticed a difference as the lines on my forehead seem to have softened in only a matter of days! I would highly recommend this product.

A Laser in a bottle? A product which declares to give your skin a second chance against sun damage and wrinkles? This product definitely filled me with hope and promise.
From the moment I saw the clinical looking dropper, I knew this was a serious serum. It glides on effortlessly, allowing the recommended 3-4 drops to spread evenly all over your face and neck, including around the delicate eye area. Immediately my skin felt soft and supple, giving it a satin like finish. This product feels very light on your face, not at all greasy like a lot of serums I have encountered in the past. It actually makes putting on your moisturiser and foundation easier, as it makes the skins surface very smooth.
After just a few days of applying Repairwear morning and evening, I notice that my skin has a fresh appearance. After a few weeks I’m starting to resemble the face that used to look back from the mirror before I had countless sleepless nights with my two little girls…….I’m looking forward to seeing what I look like in 4 weeks, then 12 weeks. But for now, I have to say I’m really happy with the results, especially the reduction of the fine lines that were creeping slowly but steadily around my eyes.

I’ve recently become obsessed with Clinque Chubby Sticks after reading about them on Beauty Goss, so when Tamsin sent me a bottle of Clinique’s Repairwear Laser Focus to try, I leapt at the chance. I haven’t used Clinique skin care since I was a spotty 16 year old and relied on their 3 step cleansing system. Now 34, my skin’s obviously changed, and I’m starting to see a few fine lines making an unwelcome appearance around my eyes. After reading the blurb about the Repairwear Laser Focus, it seems exactly what I’m looking for.

After nearly 4 weeks of using this morning and night underneath my moisturizer, my verdict’s in. I love that it’s fragrance free, it feels so fresh and light to apply, and my skin feels incredibly soft and hydrated. Those pesky eye creases are still there , but lets just chalk them up to being laughter lines! Overall, while I don’t see any visible results, I love it as a daily part of my skin regime. It’s a nice treat for my skin, especially when this winter weather can wreak havoc and really cause dryness. I’m excited to try more Clinique goodies! xo

I’m over 30 and my skin is quite dry with pigmentation and sun spots and I have many many lines (Mother of one!!). I loved the generous size of this product and it’s lasting much longer than I thought it would. I started using it twice a day morning and night around my forehead, eyes and tiny bit on my cheeks and I think it really plumped up those frown lines on my forehead between my eyes, and generally around the whole eye area. I stopped using it for about a week when I got busy doing something else, and noticed that my skin went quickly backwards, so I started using the product again religiously. I definitely think while I’m using the product there have been huge changes in my skin condition, age and frown lines and wrinkles.

Wow. Clinique’s Repairwear Laser Focus was not what I expected when I tried it – in a good way!

I have sensitive combination skin that can be oily one minute, irritated the next. Because of this, I’ve often found wrinkle-reducing, anti-ageing too heavy in consistency – gluggy even – and difficult to wear. What struck me most about this product is how lightweight it was in comparison, yet it didn’t dry my skin out either. I feel like I could get away with ditching my moisturiser and using this night and day instead. Yes, it’s that good!

My skin is really glowing after a few days’ usage, and there haven’t been any surprise blemishes or irritations. Good sign. I’ve found that given Repairwear’s silky consistency it also makes a good base under foundation. If anything, it’s better than applying make-up to bare skin.

As for the results, it’s a little too early to tell – looking promising though. I’m going to use Repairwear religiously over the next 4 weeks, as the bottle reckons you’ll see “striking improvements in wrinkles” during this time. As a pale girl (and proud of it) I’m also keen to see if it magically whisks away those pesky pigmentation spots too!
