Review: PPS Hairwear

When it comes to beauty products, you should probably know by now that it’s not just the expensive products that can leave you looking a million dollars. But, based on the questions I get on a regular basis, so many people don’t. This is not to say expensive products don’t work, but to point out there are a lot of beauty bargains, or “discounts” as my make-up artist friend politely calls them, that work really, really well.
One such bargain is the PPS Hairware Silk Hydrant Travel Pack, consisting of Silk Hydrant Shampoo and Conditioner, “The Ends” heat protector/cuticle sealer and Double Fixx leave in treatment/shine enhancer. All this costs you a grand total of $49. And the day I washed and styled my hair with it, I got no fewer than 17 compliments, most of which involved the words “soft”, “shiny” and “ooh”. There were a few “did you get a haircut?” thown in for good measure too.
My hair has always been incredibly uncooperative. Seriously. When I was four, my school pictured featured my prominent cowlicks looking like devils horns. But post-washing and straightening with this set, my hair looked and felt like silk. Very, very shiny silk. It even kept things relatively under control when I air dried my hair, cutting a lot of the frizz, a welcome change from the usual nuclear mushroom cloud effect.
So whether you’re a beauty bargain hunter or big spender, take heed of today’s beauty lesson: When you want something that works, never discount the discounts.
