Sensuous Noir

Estee Lauder’s newest fragrance has just hit the counters in New Zealand – Sensuous Noir.

It’s a welcome change from the influx of floral fragrances of late, this is a Woody Floral Chypre. As the name suggests, it’s a sexier version of last year’s Sensuous with a heart of molten woods, creme noir and patchouli. The floral notes are spiced lily, purple rose and ‘other night blooming florals’ (Jasmine and Rose Essence). There’s a dash of Black Pepper to give it a bit of spice.

This is a good fragrance for anyone who doesn’t quite want a heedy oriental but is looking for something different. It’s become my go-to fragrance when I can’t think of what to wear. (My other favourite at the moment is Tom Ford’s Black Orchid). I like it because the smell lingers, it’s interesting but it’s not over-powering.

It also seems timely with the onset of winter – it evokes thoughts of red wine, a warm fire… that sort of thing.

Have you tried it? What makes you feel sensuous?

Tamsin xoxo

I haven’t tried it yet but would be interested in smelling it. I love anything patchouli based and woody oriental!
