…NZFW…

Keep looking daily as I update with backstage hair and makeup from NZFW… right now I’m having trouble with YouTube but once I figure out what’s going on I can upload the fantastic videos I’m getting of the makeup artists and hair stylists talking through their looks. Enjoy!

time for a change

If you’ve been wondering what on earth is going on lately, why the homepage has been at a kind of standstill, it’s because ANY DAY NOW it is due to change… There have been a few hold ups according to my web guy… but I’m hoping they won’t last much longer and by the end of the week Beauty Goss will have a brand new face. Bear with me… it’s frustrating as hell on my end… but soon it should look cleaner and prettier. xoxo

a beach escape

How cold is it now Gossies? Freeeeezing! I woke up this morning and it’s taken me two cups of tea, vegemite on vogels, a dance around the heater and a hot, hot shower to keep my digits from feeling cold. I thought, “bugger this cold… let’s go… to RAROTONGA”.
We are heading to the Cook Islands tomorrow for a family holiday and to celebrate a good friend’s wedding. I am beyond excited to bust out of this chilly joint. Please don’t let our flights be affected by the ash cloud!
Righto… off to pack… I’ll whip up a ‘what to take to a tropical island holiday’ story soon.
In the meantime… stay warm girls…xoxo

counting blessings

Last weekend we nearly lost our house to a fire and even though the result is a disrupted week with builders, electricians, painters and so forth trucking through our living area, I can’t help but feel incredibly lucky. We are totally counting our blessings we didn’t lose everything.
I hope this week you are able to find the good amongst the bad…

Beauty on a budget

Beauty on a budget

Budgets are big on my mind right now, not just because the government has announced how it will slash spending for the country, but also because we have quite a few plans that require money. I’ve also been thinking about those beauty bargains – I know they’re out there. With great affordable brands like Natio, Innoxa, Sukin (to name just a few off the top of my head), I want to know what you think are true beauty bargains. Which products do you like to use that are under the: $5 (does this exist???), $10 and $20 price packet.

champagne & tiaras

champagne & tiaras

Being half British I decided to embrace my Pommy heritage and I threw a little party to celebrate the special affair. Champagne, nibbles and tiaras with some girlfriends. It was such a fun night. We placed bets on the dress (SO delighted that it was a McQueen) and of course squealed with glee at the balcony kiss.

reflections…

reflections…

Every morning, without fail, my father would kiss me goodbye before he went to work. Often he had to leave before I’d wake up. Usually he woke me, which didn’t always go down well. But looking back I appreciate the gesture – he never rushed off anywhere without saying goodbye. It’s these little things that count in life.

HOPE…

HOPE…

I have written and rewritten this so many times. I don’t quite know what to say. As I watch the heartbreak unfurl in Christchurch I feel truly helpless. I wish to express my sympathy & empathy even though I know that my sisters in Christchurch need much more than that right now.

No Strings Attached on Valentine’s Day

No Strings Attached on Valentine’s Day

Last night I, along with what seemed like every other couple in Auckland, went to see the latest rom-com, No Strings Attached, for Valentine’s Day.

Sports Billy

You need to do things you’re really crap at to appreciate the things you’re good at. Never before has that been more true than whenever I decide to take to the slopes and go snowboarding.
