We are lucky in New Zealand to have Nature Baby – the stores that serve organic (and cool) clothing, linen, toys, nappies and other odd-sods for newborns and toddlers. No doubt you’ve been there to buy a baby shower present.

Now Nature Baby are releasing two new ranges of body products for the mother-to-be and baby.

Products for Mum are in pink and include an Organic Belly Stretch Oil and Organic Mum’s Butter which is made of 100% organic Shea Butter. Shea is an awesome humectant – so a good choice for hydrating stressed skin.

The baby products are green – there’s an organic Baby Massage Oil and Bottom Balm.

In brown are products that both can share – Organic Sweet Almond Oil (with Vitamins A,E,B2, B6 and fatty acids) and skincare soaps. Almond Oil is hypoallergenic and has often been advised to use by Plunket as a massage oil.

It’s important to nurture new skin as baby skin is at least three times more sensitive and absorbent than adult skin – you only need to see how easy it is for their precious skin to become irritated to know how careful you must be with everything – washing powder included. While cheap, mass market products are possibly ok on older children, while your child is really young it’s best to be as natural as possible.
