Lash-tastic!
Until today, I’d always placed Lash Extensions on the luxury list – not a necessity, but certainly something pleasant to try if I had a bit of extra cash. But today I’m a changed woman! I now consider them a total necessity. I love how they thicken my lashline without making me look like I’m wearing stacks of makeup.
After all, who doesn’t want batty lashes? I’ve done everything in my powers to achieve them in my makeup-wearing-lifetime: had them dyed, curled with tongs and always subjected to mascara – ALWAYS. So yes, lashes are pretty high on the primping list, I’m sure you’d agree.
Which is why I was pretty eager to try lash extensions, I’d spied them on others and thought it made their eyes look ‘done’ without the application of loads of makeup. An important consideration for anyone who wants to rock the red lip.
It’s pain-free. You lie on a bed with your eyes shut while singular (longer, darker, thicker) falsies are adhered to your natural lashes, there’s about 5 minutes wait time after the final lashes are put in place for the glue to dry. Once that’s done you’re free to go. They don’t feel heavy and it didn’t sting. They look AWESOME. I was thrilled to pieces and even now I can’t help but admire them.
Maintenance-wise you just have to keep them dry for 48 hours and then avoid using an oil-base makeup remover. Don’t pull them out – they’re stuck to your real lashes. Not that you’d want to. If they do go a bit squiffy, simply call and get them fixed – it’s not a problem.
For anyone who likes to tint their lashes, or load them up with coat after coat of mascara – consider getting them done.
I went to Rebecca at Lash Noir, who I’d heard was the best in town (Auckland). She’s just set up on her own and works from a villa on Franklin Road.
She’s offering Beauty Gossies an Introductory offer. Call her and book in and mention this article and you’ll get 50% off. Offer lasts until Sunday night 21 August 2010.
Call her on 09 550 6665 or mobile 022 627 3659 or email her on rebecca at lashnoir.co.nz
Let me know what you think! I’m hooked…
