muddy face not ruddy!

I’ve always loved clay masques. There’s something about the thick, muddy mixture that makes me imagine I can feel my pores being purified. A good clay masque should leave your skin clear and glowing and my new favourite, Sukin’s Purifying Facial masque, does that in spades.

The masque features Kaolin Clay, Aloe Vera and Rosehip oil (to purify, soothe and moisturize, respectively)…and not much else besides. And trust me, this is a good thing. With the tagline “Products that don’t cost the earth” Sukin are serious about offering very reasonably priced, toxin free, environmentally-friendly skincare. A lot of their offerings compete with more expensive products, but natural and mainstream, and what they leave out of their skin care is as important as what they put in it.

Through multiple uses this masque has left my skin tighter and my pores perceptively cleaner, without the horrid dried-papier-mache feeling mad masques normally leave as a parting gift. It’s a great product that make a difference to my skin, from a company trying to make a difference to the world.

Sukin Purify Facial Masque, $17.50 at selected Farmers stores, pharmacies and health stores nationwide.
