29646_436123506209_539751209_6097482_7444546_nEmma Cruickshank runs popular fashion and pr agency Public Library and looks after brands like Beau Coops, Cassette Society, Commoners Alike, Maurie and Eve, Beau Coops and Therese Rawsthorne amongst others. She’ll probably kill me for saying this, but she’s like a gorgeous doll, she also has high cheekbones, big eyes and platinum locks – she’s incredibly striking. She has an innate sense of style and is married to one third of Stolen Girlfriends Club – Dan Gosling. Best of all, she’s lovely to boot. She plays beauty with us…

What’s your earliest makeup memory? Getting stuck into my Grandma’s makeup drawer and being obsessed with all her lipsticks. She had the best makeup selection!

What was your first perfume? D&G By

Now, do you have a signature scent? I love YSL Elle at the moment. I don’t like perfumes that are too fruity. I bought the Marc Jacobs Lola for the bottle and have found it to be a really nice, fresh summer fragrance so I alternate a bit.

Describe your everyday makeup look and what products you use: I love pale skin at the moment so use ID mineral makeup in light. I use a Maybelline mascara. I am into the more natural look with glowing skin.

How do you change this for night? I vamp up the eyes a bit and clog on the mascara!

What was the last item of makeup you bought? A tonne of Maybelline mascara in the states. It’s so cheap over there!! And a Smashbox purple black eyeliner.

What’s on your shopping list to get? The new range of Chanel pastel nail polishes. I especially love the pale green colour.

Biggest hair/makeup disaster you’ve had? My 6th form ball. It was the first time I had my hair and makeup done. I looked like a complete Barbie doll with blonde ringlets, way to much pink blusher, pink eyeshadow and way too much bronzer. So awful. The photos are a good laugh though!

What are your thoughts on cosmetic surgery – would you? Have you? I personally wouldn’t get it done but don’t have a problem with people doing this if that’s what makes them happy. I definitely prefer natural beauty though.

What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned about the industry? It is actually full of awesome down-to-earth, amazingly talented people despite its reputation. I am lucky enough to get to work with these kinds of people every day!

Best beauty discovery? Bio Actives Red Less 21

Ultimate indulgence is? Travel… I cant get enough! But beauty-wise it would be investing in top quality skincare

What advice would you tell the younger you if you could go back in time? Stay out of the sun! Make the most of life while you are young…the older you get the more responsibility so enjoy the time you have being selfish.

Has motherhood changed your beauty routine and if so, in what way? Well I am only a stepmum at the moment so only have kids half the time…My beauty routine has never been a long winded process so I haven’t noticed a change (don’t ask my husband how long it takes for me to decide what to wear in the morning though!!!) I do have to step it up sometimes trying to get twin boys to school on time.
