Beauty Spot – Honor Dillon

Black Stick Honor Dillon revealed her amazing figure in the infamous Jockey ads alongside her boyfriend, All Black, Dan Carter. Here, she opens up her makeup bag and lets us in on her beauty secrets.

What’s your earliest makeup memory?

My mother booking me in for a facial and make up lesson after school – it was great!

What was your first perfume?

L’eau D’issey by Issey Miyake.

Now, do you have a signature scent?

My favourite scent currently is Chloe, however I also rotate between Marc Jacobs Original, Hugo Boss Femme and I love the new Flora by Gucci.

Describe your everyday makeup look and what products you use:

I love a natural glowing look with minimal makeup and dewy, glowing skin. I use the Aesop skincare range which is natural & high in anti-oxidants. During the day I use M.A.C select cover up concealer, Bobbi Brown Bronzer, M.A.C pinch of peach blusher, M.A.C eye kohl pencil, eyelash curler and Covergirl Last Blast Mascara. It’s the orange one, it stays on when I play hockey but I can still get it off at night.

How do you change this for night?

When I go out at night, I use Bobbi Brown foundation, M.A.C select cover up concealer, Bobbi Brown bronzer & M.A.C trace gold blusher. I use a Napoleon shimmer over my eyes, M.A.C eye kohl pencil in smoulder, various shades of brown/gold M.A.C eyeshadows, an eyelash curler & Covergirl Mascara.

What was the last item of makeup you bought?

A shimmery brown M.A.C Eyeliner, it’s called Teddy and I love it.

What’s on your shopping list to get?

Kerastase Shampoo & Conditioner and I’m keen to try the new Model Co Sun Sponge. Apparently it doesn’t smell!

Biggest hair/makeup disaster you’ve had?

I went for a spray tan in Christchurch at a shop that also does body painting. Clearly they didn’t wash out the spray machine tubes correctly because when they sprayed up my leg it came out bright green!

What are your thoughts on cosmetic surgery – would you? Have you?

No I haven’t and don’t plan to. If something was really bothering enough to affect my life or self confidence then I would consider it.

What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned about the industry?

The harmful ingredients allowed in beauty products without giving any indication to those purchasing them.

Best beauty discovery?

Aesop skincare range – I love it! The Yves Saint Laurent Touch Eclat highlighter is great too.

Ultimate indulgence is?

A really good hot stone massage is amazing!

What advice would you tell the younger you if you could go back in time?

Wear sunblock! I really regret not looking after my skin better in the sun through my teenage years. You get wrinkles and freckles!
