Birthday Beauty

There’s nothing better than having a few treats on your birthday and for me, with being in the midst of deadline, taking the day off to get pampered wasn’t an option. So luckily, Estee Lauder sent their fabulous makeup artist Owen Allison to our offices to give me the Wild Violet experience.
Wild Violet is the new colour collection that goes on counter in two weeks time. Created by the divine Tom Pecheux, the collection is based around a brilliant, vibrant purple and includes beautiful taupes and browns. Even if you didn’t want to wear the hero colour (which you should) the rest in the palette are total must-haves.
Owen removed my current makeup with ReNutriv Cream Cleanser, and took off any excess with Soft Clean Residue. He fed my face with Idealist Repair Serum and Hydrationist Moisturiser and aided my tired computer eyes with Advanced Night Repair Eye Gel.
He chose Double Wear Light as a base because it ‘lasts long but is nice and light-looking’ – because he came after lunch and my birthday dinner party wasn’t until 7pm he wanted it to last during the muggy weather. He dusted Bronze Shimmer over the high points on my face, decolletage and shoulders. Shaping the brows with Brow Perfecting Arc he also added Bronze Goddess in Amber Bronze to cheekbones and foreheads.
There’s no reason why a strong eye can’t be matched with a bright lip – these gorgeous colours are Wild Violet Pure Colour Lips and filled with Pure Gloss in Electric Violet.
Before using the Wild Violet Palette, Owen lined my upper lids with Black Plum Eyeliner. Note the pretty mauve eyes!
Last but not least he loaded lashes with Double Wear Mascara.
Pretty? What do you think of violet?
