Copacobana – Brazilian Balayage

Copacobana 3D

Despite some insiders suggesting it’s time for the balayage trend to move on, the reality is that it is well and truly here to stay. It just looks so good. And it’s the perfect way to dress hair in summer – by applying highlights to the ends of the hair, balayage mimics the effect of the sun. When this trend first came out it was cool to create quite a strong contrast with a dip dyed effect, however now the key is to use more highlights and make it look more natural.

Copacobana Brunette

L’Oreal Professionnel have created a new in-salon colour service called Copacobana, inspired by Brazilian Balayage (as if you’ve been lying on a sun lounger on the beaches of Rio) there are four looks to work with varying shades of blonde or brunette natural hair. (Yes, you could do this if you have red hair). Balayage is a particular favourite of mine and I never grow tired of it.

Copacobana Horizon

The looks are defined like this:

Copacabana 3D imitates natural lightening by using soft highlights to emphasise the ends of the hair.

Copacabana Horizon reproduces the natural blush effect of sun-kissed hair by lightening the ends to contrast with the roots.

Copacabana Sun Kiss creates a natural gradation with waves of highlights adding movement and volume to the hair.

Copacabana Brunette illuminates brunette tones by applying contrasting highlights with diagonal waves.

The Balayage Capacabana Collection is exclusive to L’Oréal Professionnel colour salons nationwide from November.
