It’s so well-known it might as well be scientific fact: as the seasons change, females feel the urge to change their hair. And in case you don’t trust almost scientific fact, further evidence can be found simply by looking a the ladies of Hollywood, who have clearly been having lots of QT with their hair dressers. Alexa Chung, Ashley Olsen, Chloe Sevigney and Zoe Saldana are all rocking some beautiful blunt cuts just above the shoulders. It’s the hair style of the moment, and really, you can see why. A) It’s fresh B) it’s easy to style C) it’s still long enough to tie up. Win, win and win.

But here’s a good example of where it can go wrong. Sometimes ‘short, blunt and cool’ can end up looking incredibly mumsy. Where are those long sexy locks trailing beyond her shoulders? Ms Klum has proven that she can reproduce multiple times and hit the catwalk just mere months later looker hotter than her younger adversaries, so why can’t she get her hair right?

Make sure you keep those layers at the front long, though, otherwise you may end up looking a little like a pudding bowl, as Heidi Klum kindly demonstrates.

She also needs to do something with that colour. Her stylist clearly didn’t do a good enough consultation.
