Hailwood

Hailwood’s collection nodded to the stars of Hollywood in the 40s with a seaside twist – he also took inspiration from the French Riviera – the makeup and hair reflected this perfectly.

Kristen Stewart keyed the makeup for M.A.C making it modern by using the hot lip colour of choice – black.

On eyes she used Shoulder Eye Pencil in the inner rim with Gloss Texture to lid and #36 lashes to get that va-va-voom effect. Face and Body Foundation was applied in a sheer layer over skin. Pearl Cream Colour Base was used to contour and highlight. Lips of course were black with Black Lip Mix applied in that petite ‘Clara Bow’ shape.

The hair team, led by Stephen Marr’s Lauren Gunn, tonged and crimped the hair into huge ribbon curls and waited until it had cooled, and set before brushing out.

The look was finished with satin turbans to compliment the flowing tunics. It spoke of summer rather than winter – perhaps Hailwood was teasing us into making an escape to the Northern Hemisphere to break up the dreary winter weather (I’m all for that).
