NZFW10 Juliette Hogan

Think 1960s melodramatic housewife, says the brief from makeup key, Jo Roughan from MAC. And indeed these saucy girls had a bit of nice, very nice and a little touch of naughty. This was, in my humble opinion, Juliette’s best collection to date. Everything is wearable and highly desirable. The styling was impeccable and the makeup and hair suited the brief completely.
The models wore their hair in big, messy, frothy, french rolls. There were wisps allowed to fly out – Lauren Gunn from Stephen Marr keyed this look and it is the perfect blend of what is happening in the hair industry ‘trends’ but also keeping to Juliette’s style.
Juliette’s girls have a look that has evolves over the years but never too far from her roots.
The makeup was striking for it’s simplicity, elegance and glamour. It’s a total contradiction to say that it is ‘everyday’ and yet dramatic enough for the catwalk – but it was.
So here’s the recipe:
Studio Sculpt foundation and Mineralize Skin Finish were applied to the skin. On Eyes: Blacktrack fluidline, Teddy eye kohl and #34 lashes with zoomlash mascara. Cheeks were defined with Bone Beige sculpting powder and emphasize shaping powder. Lips were kept neutral with Dim Lip Erase and Twig Lipsticks. Brows were defined with Lingering pencil and clear brow set. All from MAC.
