World Aids Day

Today is world Aids day and how can you help while still thinking about numero uno??? Buy a Viva Glam Lipstick. There’s about six shades now – so something for everyone.

M.A.C launched Viva Glam in 1994 in a bright red shade – loud and proud – in 1997 they followed this up with Viva Glam II, a softly pinkish mauve. In 2000 Viva Glam III arrived in a brownish purple and in 2002 they infused a hint of gold into a rose shade. Two years later Viva Glam V came out in both a lipstick and a lipglass and then in 2006 a pearly plum shade was born with the name Viva Glam VI, it too came with a lipglass that was made to be worn over the top.

M.A.C NZ celebrated World Aids Day today with a toast at their flagship store in Chancery. They also handed over a cheque for $21,000 to Body Positive to support their free rapid HIV Testing Campaign, ‘Take Control, Take the test.’

Unfortunately it seems that despite all warnings there are still a number of people who contract this disease annually with a recent New Zealand Sexual Health Anonymous and Randomized study finding that between 25% and 30% of people with HIV are unaware of their status. Which means they could be practising UNsafe sex and spreading the disease even further. Take care out there – be body aware!

So do something totally self gratifying, like purchasing a lipstick, and support a worthy charity at the same time. Every cent from Viva Glam goes towards fighting Aids.
