I’ve received a LOT of great feedback about my hair transition, especially through the twitterverse, and most have said, ‘I wish I were blonde so I could do it too’…. well you can. In fact, in a way… this dip dyed look suits brunettes even better.

Check these reference images to see what I mean.

Firstly – where I first spied this hot look – on the gorgeous Sydney stylist Pip Edwards. Yes, hers is quite a drastic difference in colour, but it’s very cool and of course looks so bang on for her because she has such amazing style. I’ve never seen a bad photo of her.

Nicole Richie makes this look pretty with the warmer honey hues around her pixie face and of course Isabel Lucas is stunning with ends that get blonder. What is it with Aussie’s and this look?

Here’s a pretty version from the catwalk and Cameron Diaz makes it the obvious, ‘surfer chick’, look despite being a gazillionaire.

So, yes… brunettes can wear it… and blondes can wear it.

The trick is getting the tones right and for that you need a damn good colourist. Don’t try this at home!

What do you think? Would you go for the dip dye look or do you think it’s just ‘colour’ being lazy?
