all about eyes
I should really wait until May to tell you about this but I can’t… it’s just too cool.
Clinique’s All About Eyes Serum De-Puffing Eye Massage is exactly what its title says, a serum that massages and de-puffs tired eyes.
The applicator creates a rolling motion which helps circulation and gives you that ‘wide awake’ feeling. It won’t tug at the delicate under-eye skin and it doesn’t feel weird – it’s really pleasant.
The formula includes caffeine to reduce puffiness and a bevy of plant extracts and antioxidants like Rosemary Extract, Luteolin, Pomegranate Juice Extract, Grape Seed Extract plus Biomimetic Collagen, Sodium Hyaluronate, Panthenol and Glycerin. The last three are humectants that attract and bind moisture to keep the skin supple.
It’s fragrance free and allergy tested, it’s safe for contact wearers and is good for all skin types.
But can it rid those pesky dark circles? It aims to help. . .
Debbie D’Aquino, Vice President Treatment, Clinique Product Development says that dark circles accompany puffy eyes because they share many of the same causes including thinness of the skin around the eyes, allergies, fluid retention, lack of sleep, dehydration and also genetics.
‘Genetics can play a major role in determining whether or not you will be affected by dark circles,’ she explains. ‘Dark circles can be caused by certain nutritional deficiencies in your diet, such as iron. They can also be a result of melanin deposits which can be seen through the thin skin around the eyes. Poor circulation around the eye area can also cause a build up of toxins. If coupled with bone structure or deep set eyes, dark circles can be exacerbated.’
In other words there are many factors at play but a good place to start is with a refreshing eye gel that invigorates the eye area while rehydrating, cooling and refreshing.
I’ve certainly noticed happier eyes on the days I use this little gem!
Clinique All About Eyes Serum will go on counter in May for $64. Don’t forget!
