Get the Look: Sultry Smokey Eyes
In Get the Look this week we’ve asked makeup artist Grayson Coutts to tell us how to achieve Antonia Prebble’s sultry smokey eyes on the cover of the January issue of Next magazine.

The Outrageous Fortune star looks amazing! And here’s Grayson’s advice to help you get the look!

This is the perfect look for the party season. Sultry smokey eyes, soft rosy cheeks and a nude pink lip.
This look is stunning on paler skin tones but if you’re quite a bit darker, then perhaps opt for a brighter lip to help bring out your features.
Skin:
1.Apply foundation and concealer where required and use a cream blush to add soft natural colour to your cheeks.
2.Set with a light face powder.
Pro tip: apply translucent powder under the eyes to catch any fallout from the dark eye shadow. After you’ve finished the eyes, you can just sweep the powder away.
Eyes:
1.Apply an eye shadow primer to the lids and bottom lash line to prevent creasing and help your look last the distance.
2.Using an eye shadow brush, press a dark brown eye shadow all over the lids up to but not into the crease of the eye.
3.Blend this out using a fluffy eye shadow brush.
4.Now apply a matt black eye shadow right in the crease (or contour) of the eye, from the outer corner to about 3/4 of the way in.
5.Blend this out using the fluffy eye shadow brush.
6.Apply the dark brown along the bottom lash line starting at the outer corner and stop about 3/4 of the way in, then smudge the line out.
7.Using waterproof black eyeliner, line the upper rim of the eyes (just the top) and the top lash line too.
8.Apply two coats of black mascara to the top lashes only, or skip the second coat and apply false lashes
9.Finish with a highlighting powder pressed right in the ‘inner V’ of your eyes and along the brow bone.
Pro tip: lightly fill in the brows using an eye shadow instead of a pencil – it’ll look much more natural.
Lips:
1.Apply a creamy lipstick in a nude pink shade to the lips and bring it with you to touch up.
Pro tip: use your lipstick as your cream blush to save time and money and create a truly harmonious look. Apply using a foundation brush on the apples of the cheeks and blend up and out towards your hairline.
